Breakfast in Moxy Birmingham NEC
I booked this hotel because I was going to see Falling in Reverse at the Arena (which is a 2 minute walk away, I could see it from my hotel room!) [Unfortunately, as some of you might know the concert got cancelled but as the room was already paid for (and train tickets), I went.] I'm not familiar with this area of Birmingham, so I actually walked the wrong way from the train station the first time. But after a bit of wandering around the hotel was easy to spot, it's really close to Birmingham International. I really liked the vibe of the place, when I arrived loads of people were sitting near the entrance working and chatting. The lady who checked me in was lovely and told me I had a free drink to use whenever I was ready. (I ended up getting a mocha.) The room was a generous size for a solo traveller like me, the bed was comfy, and I really appreciated that I could open the window. I couldn't make the TV work but that wasn't really an issue as I had my laptop with me. Shower had decent pressure; I'm a bath person but it was refreshing to shower for a change. I'm a shy loner AND a picky vegetarian but I ventured down for breakfast. I had fruits, beans, some pastries, and hash browns. I believe I could have requested veggie sausages but once again, I'm shy. Stayed downstairs for a bit, watched people coming and going, had a coffee. Thursday morning was quiet, but Friday was busy. All in all, I enjoyed my stay, the floor I was on was really quiet, didn't hear anything!

The location of the hotel is directly opposite the entrance to the NEC, so perfect if visiting there. The staff were all really friendly, and actually seemed to be enjoying their jobs (quite rare nowadays!). The room we had was on the 6th floor and clean, well decorated and comfortable. There was no wardrobe, but enough hanging space on the funky exposed rail. Bathroom was small but with a big shower and very clean. It was quiet at night, but I think being on a high floor probably contributed to that. This is clearly a brand that is trying to liven up the hotel experience and it is working, from the funky neon lighting, and with little touches like the low level lighting that comes on below the bed when you get up in the middle of the night for the loo being quite innovative. The bar was lively in the evening, with a nice atmosphere and plenty of seating. The stand out for me though, was the breakfast. We paid £12 upon check-in and were not disappointed. I think it is the biggest selection of options for breakfast I have ever come across in a UK hotel, from cooked, to continental, to overnight oats, smoothies, yoghurt and everything in between. It's worth bearing in mind there is no parking at the hotel itself, but this is the same for all NEC hotels.

We stayed as a family of 4, 2 boys aged 8 and 13. Room 202 was really spacious with seperate lounge area with sofa bed made up on arrival. Facilities in the room where great, TV in each room, coffee pods, teas, ironing room up the corridor. Great location for an event at BP live or NEC, parking was easy at £12.00 overnight (make sure reception validate your token). Breakfast is by far the best I've had at any hotel, loads of choice, jams, pastries, meat, cheese, fruits, yogurts, about 15 cereals, jams, spreads, full English, even overnight oats. Check in/out super easy. Rooms have aircon and heating, very clean. Staff lovely and friendly. Would definitely rec3and stay again.

Team Moxy are always great ~Friendly, welcoming, helpful & kind which for such a busy hotel creates a personal feel to your stay. Exceptional customer service skills 🙏 Beds are super comfortable, exceptionally clean rooms which have a great design with travelling in mind, nice little touches like if you get up in the night an under bed light goes off so your not fiddling around for a light switch & well stocked. Tried the Moxy breakfast for the first time having stayed several times in the past. Highly recommend a really great choice to suit all tastes, delicious & great value. Area would be ideal to have a salad bar for dinner service.

The location was excellent we were attending the NEC & my walking is a problem so all good There was plenty to see & do around (shopping eating etc) the hotel itself was great very informal & you felt you could come & go at all times the door was very good we had breakfast included & there was a very wide range & plenty of it W also sampled the many with was lovely too (except the chips were a bit burnt & dry) maybe kept under a heater too long but apart from that it was all excellent
